Conference for software engineers who want to develop further in their careers.
For those who know that there is more than tech.
L8 Conf is a unique, community-driven conference that focuses on leadership in software engineering.
Inspired by the unofficial '8th layer' of computer networks - the human element - L8 Conf aims to
help software engineers enhance their leadership and soft skills.
By joining L8Conf you will be exposed to a wide range of topics, like:
driving change and making an impact on your organization and beyond it,
be a better communicator and facilitate better communication,
career development (both yours and those under you),
coaching and mentoring,
and many more.
Look at our 2025 speaker lineup and
see what topics they talked about.
Join us on 21-22 September 2026 in Warsaw!
We are looking for speakers.
We are looking for talks about topics related to staff engineering — like collaboration and culture, leading projects, managing tech debt and legacy systems, working with multiple teams, making decisions, mentoring and sponsorship, but not only.
If you have a talk that will benefit staff engineers' daily jobs, please click button below.
Please note that we only accept talks in English.
The deadline for call for papers is March 21st.

Be a leader.
Be respectful of others, ask people to stop if you are bothered, and attempt to resolve issues without Organizers. However, if you can't resolve an issue, you can contact the Organizers.
If you violate this Code of Conduct, it will be made clear to you, and you may be asked to leave the L8Conf
The L8Conf is an encouraging community dedicated to developing the craft of leadership. The L8Conf is an inclusive environment that treats all individuals respectfully, regardless of their background, identity, or position.
We value respectful behaviour above individual opinions.
Respectful behaviour includes but is not limited to:
Be considerate, kind, constructive, and helpful.
Avoid demeaning, discriminatory, harassing, hateful, or physically threatening behaviour, speech, and imagery.
Due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, and traditions of others.
If you need clarification on whether a communication, action, or behaviour is respectful, ask the source instead of assuming. No, really. If you don't find clarity, ask your peers or contact Organisers. We'd rather hear from you than hear about something you said or did after the fact, and we are here to help.
Don't be a bystander; be a leader. Role model respectful behaviour, but also help to address disrespect when you see it within your community.
Disrespectful behaviour outside this community by active members may be considered a violation of this code of conduct at the administrators' discretion.
When participants are asked to stop any harassing behaviour they are expected to cease immediately. Participants found engaging in harassing behaviour might be asked to leave an event area and may be banned for an undefined amount of time. No refunds will be issued when a participant is found in breach of these rules.
Any harassing behaviour can be reported to staff members with ‘TEAM’ or ‘STAFF’ badges or via email to [email protected].
This Code of Conduct is based upon RLS CoC
